Community Groups

Community Groups

Community Groups (CGs) at First Pres are at the heart of our life together. We are deeply committed to this unique expression of life together—we believe community is God's provision for our flourishing. CGs provide a rich environment for fresh insights, shared discovery, mutual encouragement, and care. Through our shared stories and conversations we can experience deeper connections with others, with God, and with what God is up to in our world.

If you are new to our First Pres community, or have even been here a while, and want to explore community life, an eight-week CG is a great place to begin. Community Groups, typically six to twelve adults, meet on various days and times during the week in the home of a group member or on the First Pres campus.

Fall Community Groups

Conversations in our CGs are guided by questions base don Sunday's message from the fall sermon series Making All Things New. In the company of others this fall, we explore the intersection of God's story with our own as we seek to discern and respond to the new thing God is doing in us, in our community, and in the world.

Dates & Times: September 29–November 22, various days, times, and locations

Register: there are two ways to join a Community Group for the fall:

  •  Join a CG using our online Community Groups Directory. Registration is open September 8–25.
  • Find and sign up for a CG at our sign-up table on Sundays beginning September 8.

Community Group Resources

Our Community Groups team is excited to support and resource all of our Community Groups. Here are some ways we can help:

· Keep you informed of upcoming equipping events where we cover such topics as insights from upcoming sermon series upon which our discussions are based, honing facilitation skills, having difficult conversations, using our online CG Directory and more…

· Resource missional/service opportunities for your CG

· Connect your CG leaders with a CG Coach for support and encouragement

. Thinking of starting a Community Group or adding more members to your existing group? We can help with that too!
